COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL) was created in order to promote access to flight practice
And simplify the training requirements, adapting them to the reality of recreational and sports flying.

For most pilots, the conditions and attributions established by this license are more than sufficient, allowing the enjoyment of aeronautical activity in both airplanes and helicopters with basic features in an easy and simple way.

And the best thing is that if one day you want to progress in your aeronautical training and obtain a PPL license, you will be able to accredit your experience in order to obtain it.

Enjoy flying for fun, and when you are ready for it, start your professional career. You’ll never regret your LAPL(H) training.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The structure of the course consists of a Theoretical Phase and a Flight Phase

The Theoretical Instruction phase consists of the following subjects:

Common subjects:

  • Aeronautical law
  • Human factors
  • Meteorology
  • Communications

Specific subjects related to the Aircraft category:

  • Principles of Flight
  • Operational procedures
  • Performance and Flight Planning
  • General knowledge of the aircraft

The Flight Instruction phase for LAPL (H) consists of 40 hours of flight instruction in helicopters,
of which, at least 35, will have been flown in the type of helicopter that will be used for the skill test, and must include at least:

  • 20 hours of flight instruction in dual command
  • 10 hours of supervised-only flight, including at least 5 hours of cross-country flight alone with at least 150 km (80 NM), during which at least 1 landing will be made with a full stop at an aerodrome other than the departure one
DURATION

The duration of the course is approximately 2 months and allows combining the Theoretical phase with the Flight Phase. Even so, the final duration to obtain the license depends on the time and number of calls necessary to pass the exams of the different subjects and the flight verification, usually varying between 3 and 6 months in total.
