Course Description and Requirements

The course’s goal is to achieve the support and legal permission to carry out an instrument approach procedure:  LNAV , LP, LNAV/ VNAV, LPV… for pilots whom own the Instrumental flight entitlement and/or students currently coursing the ATPL-A course or those obtaining Instrumental flight entitlement.

The minimum requirements in order to perform the course are:

  • Minimum 18 years
  • To own a CPL-A or PPL-A license with Instrumental flight habilitation.
  • Valid medical certificate.

The course is on-site.

Theoretical Phase:

The theoretical phase lasts a minimum of 8 hours in which the student will be prepared to achieve the theoretical knowledge about performance based navigation (PBN). This theoretical course will be taught as long as there are at least, 2 students minimum per class.


Flying Phase:

The flying phase lasts a minimum of 2h and 30 minutes of practical instruction on the FNTPII Simulator, performing at least 5  PBN approaches including all types of PBN approaches: LNAV, LP, LNAV/VNAV, LPV.
